中国报:為造惠貧窮病人 佛義建綜合醫療中心

(檳城14日訊)佛義洗腎中心已擬定計劃在檳島西南縣興建一座斥資500萬令吉的綜合醫療中心,以造惠貧窮病人!

為救助更多貧窮病重者包括中風及腎病患者,該中心在今年3月間已于峇東一帶耗資200萬令吉購下一塊地皮,準備在西南縣興建一座5層樓的佛義綜合醫療中心。

佛義管理委員會黃明舜透露,該會所購下地段面積2萬2000方尺,目前萬事俱備只欠東風,尚欠缺500萬令吉的建築經費以落實此項計劃。

他說,計劃中的佛義第3間中心-綜合醫療中心,將設有多元醫療服務,當局希望能在5年內建成這座5層樓大廈,以便為腎病患者、中風者及臨終病患提供服務。

他指出,一旦綜合醫療中心建成,底部樓層將劃為免費服務貧窮病人的樓層,至于樓上則充作收費制的服務區。

他今日在該會執行顧問馬乃福、秘書鄭春成、民政日落洞國會選區協調員吳洑安及峇都蘭樟協調員楊憓昀贈送月餅給腎友前,召開記者會上,發布此消息。

黃氏說,家境貧窮需要醫療援助的病人,一律獲得免費服務,只有經濟允許的病者需收費。有關收益,也將作為佛義洗腎中心運作經費。

他說,綜合醫療中心的土地轉換手續及圖測申請,已正在處理中。

他續言,佛義洗腎中心現有109名腎友,即第1間中心61人,第2間中心48人,每月總開銷約5萬令吉。

他指出,平均每位腎友在佛義洗腎每次的成本約100令吉,政府提供50令吉津貼,中心僅向腎友收取20令吉,其餘30令吉則由佛義承擔。

吳洑安及楊憓昀聯合善心人士為109名腎友送溫情,送出月餅給腎友以度過溫馨中秋節!
上述贊助人士共花費3336令吉購買月餅,除了贈送給腎友外,30名佛義僱員及護理人員也獲贈。
吳洑安說,佛義計劃在西南縣設立綜合醫療中心,將讓更多的當地病者受惠。
他說,非政府組織要積極推動慈善福利工作并不易,希望政府能夠時時刻刻給予這些組織全面的配合及支持。

另外,楊憓昀呼籲公眾踴躍支持及捐助義款給佛義,以讓建設綜合醫療中心計劃早日落實。

Penang Fo Yi Haemodialysis Society has planned to build an integrated Medical Centre costing about 5 million Ringgit in the south-westerndistrict of Penang Island for the benefits of those poor patients.

To fullfil the said purpose, the Society had bought a piece of land in Batang ,in the south-western district of Penang for the construction of a five-storey integrated medical centre.

The Chairman of Penang Fo Yi Haemodialysis Society, Mr Ooi Beng Soon, disclosed that the Society had bought a piece of land measured approximately 22,000 sq ft, however, it required the fund of RM5 million for its physical construction of the medical centre.

Mr Ooi said: "The planned five-storey integrated medical centre is the Society 3rd Dialaysis Centre and it would house treatment clinics for Dialysis centre, Stroke-patients, and end-period patients.Hopefully, the centre can be built and completed within the next 5 years."

He further explained the ground floor said Integrated Medical Centre upon completion of its construction would be used as a Free Medical Clinic for the poor and the upper floors would be used for paid Service Medical centres.

Executive Adviser, Mr Mah Nai Hock, the Secretary, Mr. Teh Soon Seng, Gerakan BN Jelutong Liaisoner, Mr Ng Fook On,

Gerakan BN Batu Lancang, Ms Michelle Yeoh Hui Hoon to the Dialysis Centre for the gifting of Moon Cakes to the kidney patients.

Mr Ooi reiterated that only those really poor and needy patients are for free medical treatments and for other patients they would be required to pay within their fianancial capabilities. The fees collected would be absorbed as part of the operating expenses of the Centre.

Mr Ooi further pointed out that the application procedure for the conversion and transfer of the purchased land were in progress. There are 109 kidney patients presently with 61 patients in Centre No.1 and 48 patients in Centre No.2 respectively and the total monthly operating expenses were about RM50,000.00 The cost of dialysis treatment per patient is RM100 and with the subsidiary from the Health Authority of RM50-00 and the contribution of RM30-00 from the Society, the patients at the two centres are required to pay RM20-00 for each treatment.


GIFTS OF MOON CAKES FOR KIDNEY PATIENTS

In conjunction with the Mid-Autumn Festival or Moon Cakes Festival, Mr Ng Fook On, and Michelle Yeoh together with some other philanthropists jointly contributed the sum of RM3,336-00 for the purchases of moon cakes for the kidney patients, nursing staff and admininstrative staff of the two centres. Mr Ng, the spokeman of the group, said that with the plan by Penang Fo Yi Haemodialysis Society to set up an integrated medical centre in south-western part of Penang, more kidney patients would be taken in for the benefits of the poor.

He urged more NGO would actively promote the charitable activities for those unfortunates. Additionally, he hoped the Government would render assistance and co-operation continuously to these NGOs.

Mr. Yeoh urged the public to support Fo Yi by contributing the required fund for the set-up of the proposed integrated Medical Centre.
